I uploaded this yesterday, but took it down as I got a few negative comments about the stag heads, but I've decided to put it back up. I'm sorry if the stags offend you, but they are over 100 years old and they just happened to be in the room we were shooting in. I am anti-hunting, but I like this picture and I have to admit they were a beautiful (but eerie) sight and it would have been a shame to cut them from the picture.

Photography by David Charles

Model is myself

The image is shot through a door (we're experimenting with depth and layers at the moment!) No photoshop.

I love the voyeur concept. As far as the antlers I am hunter. That subject has nothing to do with the pic. I didn't even notice them until you mentioned it. The picture is set up to see nothing but you. It was a great shot of a great subject in a great setting.

If the mounted antlers and heads are over 100 years old, that is a prime example of master taxidermy.

Also, you are so so gorgeous. I like the way your hair falls around your shoulders.

Don't listen to them my Muse!!!
If you didn't mention the stags, we wouldn't see them at all!!
You attract the eyes of the observer and one can barely give attention to any unimportant details!! ;)

I'll preface with I love the shot and it was an instant fav.  Having said that, I'm never keen on a soft foreground. I'd love it even more if the door was sharp.

Great piece. Great setting, very olde worlde and gentlemanly, with your presence adding a nice feminine touch, so to speak.

I like this image, but I wish it were cropped differently with less of the image on the bottom and more of the image on top . . .IMHO

There was this horrible black paneling above which is why we didn't shoot higher, it didn't fit with the room at all.

I understand what you are saying...it is all the negative space on the bottom of the image that I find kind of not needed.

That is why I suggested what I did.

An interesting shot the way you are framed in the window pane. I'm glad that you decided to re-post and leave it as is. Just because there are certain subjects in a picture it doesn't mean that you endorse or encourage. I love Charles and your work.

Stag heads? That's culture and colour. Imagine being in an area where no hunting occurs and no natural predators exist. You'd be hunting soon enough. Hunting for food I have no issue with. Hunting for sport, well, that's a different matter.

Stag heads...of all the things to be offended by :)  I'm quite pro-hunting, myself, mostly because A.  There are no greater stewards of the environment than those who are actually living out in it and enjoying it, B.  Legal hunting, in addition to being part of the circle of life, is by far, the most humane means of putting meat on a table.  What is done to cows, chickens, and pigs in slaughterhouses is FAR worse, and much less healthy.  A deer, killed (not poached) out in the wild, lived a full life in the free air; most things we eat haven't seen the sunlight.

Apologies; I just feel the need to stick up for hunters, and I've had many a person criticize the sport over a filet mignon without realizing the irony :)  It's all right to disagree on many things, of course; I only mean to say that hunters are terribly misunderstood and actually quite wonderful people if you really get to understand them :)

I really do love this shot.  You look so beautiful, the framing through the window is quite lovely, and the series concept of the pretty woman going through the bachelor pad brings a smile to my face.

Keep on with the series; you've got a fan in me ;)

Thanks.  I don't mind if someone disagrees with hunting, as we all can disagree.  I just hate this 'hunters are evil' stereotype (Muse did 'not' state this at all; this idea is my own) which is spread by those who haven't spent a good few days in the woods and don't understand the first thing about the sport.  I don't mind if a vegetarian says that he/she hates hunting and therefore chooses not to eat meat.  I 'do' mind when the same thing is said by someone who has plenty of animal products, but somehow feels 'above' those that actually hunt.  Snobbery at its finest, and such :)  When one walks a few miles in a hunter's boots, he/she sees the world in a much different fashion.

That said, I'm quite good friends with a vegetarian who believes he should harm nothing, and practices what he preaches.  He's anti-hunting, and he lives accordingly.  We get along quite nicely.  Hooray consistency! :)

Beautiful as always. Really creative photo and it looks just as if a country lady has been glimpsed, in her country house, checking some items over, before going to bed.  Fabulous idea and I go along with what another deviant member said, you are one of the most beautiful models on D.A.  You have not only a stunning body, but a beautiful face and amazing hair, and the acting ability to be totally at ease. The photos you and David create, must give you immense pleasure and satisfaction.  - Phil :):)
